I cycled from north to south through Ecuador, from the bustling streets of Quito to the soaring peaks of Cotopaxi and Chimborazo, and the crater of Quilotoa. Highlights included the adventure town of Ba\u00f1os, a 10-day immersive jungle experience with a guide\u2014hunting, fishing, and sleeping under the canopy\u2014and the charming colonial city of Cuenca. Ecuador offered a thrilling mix of mountains, wilderness, and culture at every turn.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

December 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gal\u00e1pagos Islands<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I spent a full month exploring the Gal\u00e1pagos Islands\u2014Santa Cruz, Isabela, and San Crist\u00f3bal. Highlights included snorkeling at Kickers Rock, Los Tuneles, and Perla Conchas, encountering abundant wildlife, and celebrating Christmas under the palms. It was a month of unforgettable adventures in one of the world\u2019s most unique landscapes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

October – November 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southbound from Medell\u00edn to Ecuador<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I journeyed south from Medell\u00edn, cycling through the lush Coffee Zone, crossing the stark beauty of the Tatacoa Desert, and exploring the archaeological wonders of San Agust\u00edn. The ride took me through the green valleys of Mocoa and the highlands near Pasto, before reaching the border town of Las Lajas\u2014an epic stretch of Colombia full of diverse landscapes and unforgettable experiences.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Pedalled through Colombia\u2019s heartlands<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Rolling hills, rivers, and lush landscapes defined this stretch. I cycled through Colombia\u2019s vibrant heartlands, taking in scenic valleys, cloud forests, and colorful towns before reaching Medell\u00edn.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Stopped in Morris Plains, New Jersey, to visit friends before heading south\u2014catching up and sharing stories. Took the chance to explore bustling New York City as well and letting the excitement for the journey ahead build.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Volunteered at the Baltic Sea<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Assisted with preparations for the summer season. Tasks included maintaining equipment, setting up safety measures, and learning essential lifeguard duties.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Umbria – Italy by bicycle<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ten unforgettable days cycling through Umbria with a group of 25 riders. Together we explored quiet country roads, rolling hills, medieval villages, and incredible Italian food\u2014an adventure defined by great scenery, strong legs, and even better company.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
